If you caught Miesha Tate’s Google Hangout session to promote the upcoming 18th Season of TUF, which she coaches opposite Ronda Rousey on, then you know the two still aren’t very ‘chummy”. Of course, it’s kind of unreasonable to expect them to bury the hatchet during the film of TUF 18 and become close buddies (although Chael Sonnen and Jon Jones seemed to get along just fine no?).

Of course, as you likely know, Tate and Rousey have been rivals for sometime now, since before and after the latter submitted Tate when they fought last March. Although critics  will say it’s all to promote TUF 18 and their rematch on December 28th, it certainly sounds like there’s still no love lost between the two. Case in point, here’s some of what Tate had to say about coaching opposite Rousey on TUF 18 (quotes via MMA Fighting.com).

“I’ve had people I’ve worked with before that I didn’t get along with or whatever, but never to this extent. I don’t know what her reasoning was for it, but at one point she just flipped a switch and she just became this mega b—h,” Tate said. “For the rest of the season, it was just horrible having to deal with her.”

“There’s no way I could possibly like her,” Tate claimed. “She’s been incredibly rude to me from the very beginning. That’s how our rivalry got started. It’s not going to change with her attitude. She was very disrespectful on the show. I think that’s what she’s more worried because honestly, her true colors came out in that six weeks.”

Now Tate did credit Rousey for what she’s done for women’s MMA, and for her athletic abilities as well, but that’s pretty much where the kind words ended. TUF 18 premieres on  FOX Sports 1, September 4th and Rousey-Tate II will go down December 28th at UFC 168. It should be a pretty entertaining and intriguing season.
