The last welterweight to hold the Strikeforce strap before its departure will make his UFC debut against a fellow Strikeforce veteran.

Tarec Saffiedine is set to take on Robbie Lawler at UFC on FOX 8, confirmed the booking today.

Saffiedine is 8-2 in his last ten fights, and is yet to be finished inside the cage. He is most recently coming off a unanimous decision victory, stripping the belt from Nate Marquardt back in January.

Lawler made his UFC return back at UFC 157 in Anaheim in impressive fashion stopping Josh Koscheck with punches in the first round. Out of his 20 professional wins, 17 have come by the way of knockout. He is only 2-3 in his last five fights, but will look to refresh his career with another UFC appearance against the last welterweight champ in Strikeforce history.

UFC on FOX 8 will take place at the Key Arena in Seattle, Washington on Saturday, July 27th.
