Stipe Miocic was ready and willing to fight Fabricio Werdum for the UFC heavyweight title on just two weeks notice.

Now, Miocic might have a few months to prepare for the bout.

Following a report out of Brazil that the two would square off this May at UFC 198, Miocic (14-2) played coy when asked during a recent media scrum in Las Vegas.

“Maybe. You know better than I do,” Miocic admitted.

After scoring a victory over Andrei Arlovski in early January, Miocic jumped at the chance to replace Cain Velasquez in the planned UFC 196 headline bout that would have gone down this past weekend. Instead, Werdum (20-5-1) exited the card, citing a series of injuries.
