Although fans have been saying for some time now that Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva would fight sooner or later, something always came up to spoil the long awaited scrap.

Well, despite the fact Sonnen is already scheduled to fight Rashad Evans at UFC 167 next month, the UFC has announced that “The American Gangsta” and Silva will coach the next season of TUF Brazil III. Yes, that means they will finally fight, after the season concludes.

UFC President Dana White announced the news, alongside Sonnen, on Monday’s edition of FOX Sports Live (posted above). The UFC boss also assured Sonnen, who’s been known to call out a Brazilian fighter or two, that he’ll have plenty of security during the show’s filming.

Tryouts for the show will be held in Rio de Janeiro on November 11th, and will be open to middleweights, light-heavyweight and heavyweights. Filming is expected to get underway in early 2014, although no dates for the program’s premiere or when Sonnen-Silva will happen were announced.

So, if you’re like thousands of other fans who’ve been captivated by their rivalry,  then this has got to be huge news.  Chances are the ratings for TUF Brazil III should be pretty, pretty, strong.

Of course, Sonnen and  Silva have been calling each other out for sometime and have grabbed plenty of headlines in the process. Most recently, Silva confronted the former middleweight contender at a Mr. Olympia event, and “The Axe Murderer’s” video of the incident quickly went viral.
