At one time, Anthony Johnson and Alistair Overeem were under the same “Blackzilians” banner in Florida.

Those days are now long gone, but there appears to be a feud brewing between “Rumble” and “The Reem.”

On Twitter recently, Johnson called out Overeem, referring to him with some choice words. He also claims that the former Strikeforce champion “ducked” Junior dos Santos.

Johnson returned to the UFC earlier this year with a pair of victories over Phil Davis and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. He has been pushing to face Alexander Gustafsson in what would likely be a No. 1 contender match to the light heavyweight title.

Prior to returning to the Octagon, Johnson floated around weight divisions, even competing at heavyweight against Andrei Arlovski.

Overeem, meanwhile, fights this Friday night against Ben Rothwell in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 50.

Johnson’s comments about Overeem were re-kindled when news broke that Overeem injured Jon Jones, forcing him out of his planned September title defense with Daniel Cormier.

“(He said that out of) jealousy,” Overeem said, in an interview with “I can’t think of any other explanations. I have no relationship with the guy.”

As for possibly facing Johnson down the road, Overeem said “I have different priorities right now, but I could definitely see that fight happening in the future.”
