Two of the stockiest fighters at middleweight are set for the main event of UFC on FX 6. Rousimar Palhares will take on former Bellator middleweight champion Hector Lombard in the night’s main event. UFC on FX 6 takes place on December 15 at a yet to be determined Australia arena. The card will contain the finals of the Australia versus UK season on the Ultimate Fighter as well as the coaches battle between Ross Pearson and George Sotiropolous.

Rousimar has always been on the fringe of contender status, but unfortunately he always losses at some point. His TKO losses to Nate Marquardt and Alan Belcher have made him restart his ascent up the 185 pound ladder. Luckily, Rousimar’s skill set makes him one tough nut to crack. With four submission that pertain to the legs in his last six wins he is unmistakeably dangerous when it comes to the ground.

Hector Lombard was an absolute terror before he entered the UFC. With 24 straight wins, only five decision wins in those 24, and a penchant for knockout he was thought to be a true challenger to Anderson Silva’s title. Whether it was injuries or lack of talent only time will tell in regards to his loss to Tim Boestch. The fight could have went either way, but it was not a barn burner by any means. He needs to prove that his recent loss was a fluke by making a statement here. If he does not, then he will likely drop much lower down the ladder and into the danger zone of facing a cut by his Zuffa employers.
