LAS VEGAS – Yushin Okami (28-7) continues to prove that he is still atop the UFC middleweight division, as he puts a stop to the win streak and aspirations of Alan Belcher (18-7) once again at UFC 155 in front of a MGM crowd.

It may have made for a three round ground war, but it was that tactic that earned Okami the unanimous decision win. Belcher did show some grit however, as he connected, dropping Okami in the third. “The Talent” capitalized momentarily in top mount, but Okami was able to reverse the momentum half way thru the last round and cruise to a unanimous decision victory.

Yushin Okami defeats Alan Belcher via unanimous decision: (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)

With a recent TKO loss to current champ Anderson Silva, followed by a TKO to a resurging Tim Boetsch at UFC 144, some had started to count the Japanese star out. Now riding his second straight win in the octagon, those assumptions are dismissed. Thunder now holds notable wins over Nate Marquardt, Mark Munoz, Mike Swick, and Alan Belcher.
