Ryan Bader (14-2) has upset Japanese favorite Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson (32-10) at UFC 144 in the Saitama Super Arena in Japan. It was a three round war that would end with the judges nodding in favor of the younger prospect. Here is the full play-by-play.

Round One:
Both men look agile as they take the center. Bader backs briefly and Rampage taunts him to return. Bader gets it to the fence. The two break to the center of the Octagon. Over hand right lands for Bader. Right grazes Rampage again and Bader follows with the clinch to the fence. Bader stuffs Rampages takedown attempt. Left hook lands for Rampage, and Rampage follows up to the mid-section as the round ends.

Round Two:
Rampage starts swinging the huge right hook that barely misses. Bader gets the clinch and Bader gets his knee caught. Rampage lifts the wrestler and slams him on his head. Rampage follows to the body, Bader steps back and recovers and shoots in and gets takedown. The crowd boos as Bader works from side control with slipped punches. Rampage looks to escape and gets his back taken. Rampage looks gassed as Bader continues to soften Jackson.

Round Three:
Bader gets it to the cage again. Bader lands a left on the exit. Rampage is stuffed on the takedown attempt. Rampage gets taken down by Bader and into side control. Bader grabs the back of Rampage to stop him from escaping. Transitions to half guard as Rampages mouth is now open. Bader goes for the Kimura but unable to finish. Bader goes for the guillotine as the round ends.

Bader puts together his second straight victory in the Octagon and against a prominent opponent, former UFC light heavyweight champ Rampage Jackson. Bader was seen prior with a KO victory over Jason Brilz at UFC 139. In Baders debut to the promotion he peeled off five straight before losing to current champ Jon ‘Bones’ Jones in Feb. 2011.
