Although the UFC could book more shows in the MMA hotbed of Brazil before the year is out, according to a follow up report from MMA Junkie, the promotion is not planning to hold a card in the nation on November 15th after all. Yesterday reports surfaced relaying that the UFC was targeting that date for another event, and that further, the city of Goiania would likely be the host city. The card was expected to be the fourth UFC on FOX Sports 1 event.

MMA Junkie is reporting, however, that according to sources “close to the promotion” the UFC was considering hosting a card on that date in Brazil but no plans were finalized. The report adds that more events could be booked in Brazil this year.

If you’re thinking it ‘seems like the UFC is holding a ton of events there lately’, you would be right. Three cards have been hosted by Brazil so far this year and two more are already planned. UFC 163 goes down on August 3rd in Rio de Janeiro, and UFC on FS1 3 will take place in Belo Horizonte on September 4th.

If the UFC had held an event on November 15th that would have been a crazy weekend of action, as UFC 167 is expected to take place November 16th in Las Vegas. That card will feature welterweight champ Georges St. Pierre taking on Johny Hendricks. Now that’s a fight.
