In an effort to support the upcoming UFC PPV 145 the UFC has started to release a series of commercials the first features former Light-Heavyweight champion Rashad Evans. The commercial feels different than most of the branding and marketing the UFC has shown before. There is no punches, there is no kicks, and there is no submissions. There is just Rashad in a suit and this is what he has to say.
“We all fight in different arenas in our life, and I think that’s what draws so many people to fighting is because it’s the actual physical manifestation of the way they feel inside. To me, to live is to fight. It’s about persevering; it’s about testing yourself. It’s about not becoming complacent. It’s about feeling alive in the moment because when your adrenaline is going, you’re thinking about that present moment. You’re not somewhere else, you’re not thinking about. you know, what’s going to happen 10 minutes from now. That’s the reason I love fighting – is when I’m in there, I feel free. I feel like there’s no other place I want to be. I can’t even think of anything, you know, beyond that second. That’s why I’m drawn to the fight, because I love the presence of it, where it brings me mentally. It’s the purest thing for me. My name is Rashad Evans – I’m a UFC fighter.”
