This past Saturday night we witnessed the heavy hands of Glover Teixeira as he bloodied former boxer Fabio Maldonado in the 153 co-main. During Teixeira’s victory speech he made a call-out of his originally scheduled 153 opponent Quinton “Rampage” Jackson .

“I’d like to fight Quinton Jackson,” said Teixeira. “I never talked shit about him. He was my idol. I loved that guy coming up in Pride, but he says I was talking bad about him. I’m not talking bad about him. I’m not afraid of no man.”

Jackson was quick to respond as he took to twitter to request the match be setup.

Yo @danawhite set up that fight with Glover please! Lets give him what he I won’t let u down #fightofthenight

White was quick to respond to the request.

Sounds good bro

With all parties involved now in agreement, it shouldn’t be long till we see the official date for the match-up.  The bout is expected to be Jackson’s final bout with the UFC as he finishes out his contract and looks to new ventures. Jackson may be facing his toughest challenge to date as Teixeira currently stands 19-2 with 15 straight victories and most coming by KO.
