With UFC 161 now just days away, the spotlight has begun to shift to Rashad Evans versus Dan Henderson, which will headline the Winnipeg bound card. Of course, the tilt is a huge one for both men, as Hendo lost by split decision to Lyoto Machida in his last outing (in a less than thrilling bout), and Evans is coming off  a lacklustre, UD defeat to Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.

A loss for either man would significantly set back their title shot aspirations for the coming months, and considering Hendo is 42, it could conceivably end them (thankfully he has a trophy case stacked with championship belts).

So, who will win? Well, in a recent video interview with Fightline.com Phil Davis went with Evans, who is the only man to have defeated him to date (via unanimous decision loss at UFC on FOX 2 last January).

“He fights smart fights, and I think he’s going to try to get around Henderson’s overhand right and make it a real difficult fight for him. That’s just my take on it. It might go down a little different….Rashad didn’t look like himself in his last fight. Maybe he looks that way, I doubt it, but maybe he looks that way again and that will change things. That’s a whole different fight, but I’m going to have to go with Rashad on this one.”

Yes, those are two important keys to an Evans’ victory: avoid the infamous Hendo bomb, and perform much, much better than he did against Nogueira (who to be fair, is a ridiculously talented, tough and accomplished light-heavyweight).
