Khabib Nurmagomedov was extraordinarily impressive against Pat Healy in their lightweight bout at UFC 165, earning a unanimous decision after three rounds of action.

The Russian extended his record to 21-0 with a clinic of his SAMBO-based attack, earning takedowns for ground-and-pound as well as some excellent striking. A pair of flying knees in the first round and a nasty elbow strike in round two were particular highlights.

The veteran Healy was tough as ever and landed a few shots here — including a nice left hook to stagger Nurmagomedov in round two — and did well to scramble out of trouble, but was mostly overwhelmed. The unanimous decision victory may serve as Nurmagomedov’s “coming out” party, with an impressive victory over a well-known opponent.
