Two heavyweight that love to throw down are now set on a war path. Pat “HD” Barry (7-5) will be taking on Shane Del Rosario (11-1) at the upcoming scheduled TUF 16 Finale in Las Vegas, NV on Dec. 15th. Expected to headline the event is fellow heavyweights and TUF coaches Shane Carwin versus Roy Nelson.
As for Barry, the former K-1 kickboxer, the rollercoaster of wins and losses has been sprinkled with both KOs to and from. Recently suffering a TKO loss to heavy handed Lavar Johnson at UFC on Fox in May, HD will look to rebound against the young newcomer.
When Shane Del Rosario submitted Brandon Cash with the ever-elusive omoplata – then followed up with an armbar over Lavar Johnson, the young heavyweight was turning heads. Unfortunately in Rosario’s premiere in the UFC he had tasted his first loss at the hands of Stipe Miocic via TKO in May.
