If you enjoy watching Pat Barry hurl bombs at massive heavyweights then you’re going to want to tune into UFC FN 33 on December 7th, as “HD” has agreed to fight Soa “The Hulk” Palelei.
The scrap was first reported by WA Today.com, which relayed Barry and Palelei have verbally agreed to the bout, and the UFC has also tweeted the match-up. UFC FN 33 will go down at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Australia.
Barry (8-6) will be looked to rebound from the first round, stoppage loss he suffered versus Shawn Jordan at UFC 161, which followed “HD’s” KO victory over Shane del Rosario last December. The feared slugger has gone 2-3 in his last 5 bouts, so this next one is a big one for sure.
Palelei (19-3) scored a third round, stoppage win over Nikita Krylov recently at UFC 164, which was a wild and sloppy bout that didn’t sit well with Dana White. The 6’4 tall, 265 pound heavyweight revealed after the fight, however, that he was suffering from a broken rib. The Australian fighter has won 9 straight bouts.
So, UFC FN 33 is coming together rather nicely, as it will also feature Mark Hunt vs. “Bigfoot” Silva and “Shogun” Rua vs. James Te Huna. IBroadcast plans for the card haven’t been confirmed, but the December 7th show is expected to be broadcast on FOX Sports 1.
