It was alleged that the next man in line for a shot at the  UFC heavyweight title,  Alistair Overeem was recently being violent towards a women at a night club in the Wynn Hotel of Las Vegas, NV  shortly after his victory over Brock Lesnar at UFC 141. The female plaintiff claimed that the K-1 World champion pushed her hard enough to ’cause her to stagger back,’  giving her the inclination to file a battery charge with the Vegas Police Department. A non-jury trial on the matter has been scheduled for March 27th.

If convicted, Overeem faces up to a maximum of six months in prison and a maximum $1,000 fine. Overeem has retained Las Vegas defense attorney David Chesnoff’s services for the trial. Both Overeem’s attorney and UFC president Dana White have stated publicly that they are confident that it will not effect the schedules UFC 146: Dos Santos vs. Overeem headline bout in any way.
