If you’re a fan of Gabriel Gonzaga and were hoping to see his recent TUF 17 Finale loss to Travis Browne overturned, then you’re not going to be happy with the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

Gonzaga and his camp filed an appeal with the NSAC recently, arguing that the vicious knockout he incurred versus Browne should be overturned, because some of the fight ending elbows were to the back of his head.

According to a report from MMA Junkie.com, however, the NSAC has denied Gonzaga’s appeal by informing them that: “Nevada law does not provide a procedure to challenge or overturn a decision based on the allegations in your letter.”

So much for that. While video footage of the bout does seem to indicate that Browne blasted Gonzaga with several illegal elbows, the preceding strikes weren’t to the back of the head. People can continue to argue how hurt Gonzaga was before the illegal blows, but, it looks like the NSAC considers this a done deal.

Controversy aside, the win got Browne back on the winning track after the rising heavyweight was stopped by “Big Foot” Silva last October. “Hapa” Browne has now gone 5-1-1 to date in the Octagon.
