Paige Vanzant has already got her name in the news quite a bit despite the 20th season of The Ultimate Fighter still being months away from airing.
However, one of the original selections for the all-female strawweight season, Vanzant has been forced out due to just being 20 years old. In fact, she only recently turned 20.
The UFC has an age requirement of 21 to be on TUF, something that also came into play when Jon Jones tried out several years ago.
Vanzant confirmed with FOXSports.com that she has a deal with the UFC despite not being on the show. On Twitter, “12 Gauge” was disputing initial reports from Team Alpha Male teammate Urijah Faber concerning the move, but that was only because she was “under the impression we had to keep it on the down low.”
“I was upset initially,” Vanzant said. “I was very excited to train with those girls and those coaches.”

The season will be coached by UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis and contender Gilbert Melendez. It will be the first time the entire cast has been females.
