The Stockton stand-out, Nick Diaz may currently be prohibited from competing in mixed martial arts, but it doesn’t stop the Gracie blackbelt from returning to the sport of Jiu-Jitsu. The World Jiu-Jitsu Expo (WJJE) website has announced that Nick Diaz will in fact be competing in a super-fight at the event on May 12th in Long Beach, CA . No details of opponents at this time, but we can expect to see the top jiu-jitsu artists from around the world such as Roger Gracie, Andre Galvao, Braulio Estima, and Renzo Gracie in attendance.
Though Diaz has been away from the sport for two years at the request of his employers during fight camps, Diaz now has the time to focus once again on his jiu-jitsu.
Diaz’ Manager Cesar Gracie recently also let it be known that the camp is expecting to hear back on the appeal of Nick’s suspension regarding marijuana metabolites discovered after his fight against Carlos Condit.
