Muslim Salikhov‘s from Dagestan and his nickname is “The King of Kung Fu” – which makes him crazy-cool right off the bat.

Ricky Rainey is a Bellator vet who took this fight on three weeks notice because, well, it’s the UFC. That’s what you do.

The expectation is that Salikhov is dangerous with his spinning-kicks and strikes coming from odd angles, but Rainey is tall and lanky and hella capable of playing that outside striking game. That translates into a lot of Rainey moving forward and forcing the Dagestani backwards, and Salkhov throwing single kicks and punches to keep Rainey from steamrolling right over him.

Round 2 is more of the same, and you have to wonder if Salikhov’s UFC tenure is going to be a bust. Of course, it’s at that moment that Salikhov times a right hand counter just as Rainey is stepping in, sending the American to the canvas in brutal fashion. A couple follow ups and it’s all over.
