“Quick” has been called to return to Fox. Mike Swick may have been out for nearly three years, but he is making the most of his return. At UFC on Fox 5 he will take on tough as nails Ultimate Fighter Alum. Matt Brown who is currently riding a three fight winning streak. The broadcast event is currently headlined by a lightweight title fight between current champion Benson Henderson taking on number one contender Nate Diaz. UFC on Fox 5 is set to take place on December 8th at the KeyArena in Seattle, Washington. It is not confirmed if this fight will make the televised card, but with both of these fighters with an appetite for exciting fights, it is very likely the UFC would like to showcase the bout.
Mike Swick has previously stated that if he suffers another injury his career may be over and after spending two and a half years on the sidelines he is clearly making the most of his time left in the sport. Mike Swick took on DeMarques Johnson in his return, as both fighters put on an exciting first round. Mike fortunately lived up to his nickname by knocking Johnson out cold in the second round. He had taken DeMarques down and with a ‘quick’ follow-up punch to the chin he knocked Johnson out cold. In Matt he will be facing another finisher who can knock people out with one punch.
Matt Brown is currently riding a 4-1 streak where he took out some contenders in that string. In fact, in four months Matt took out three consecutive opponents, earned two stoppages, and collected quite a bit in pay checks. Mike will be his toughest test in the last few years, and it will be interesting to see how it plays out. Mike loves to stand, but that is where Matt is his most dangerous. Matt’s weakness has always been his ground game with nine of his eleven losses coming by way of submission. It will be interesting to see if Mike will go to the ground in this fight.
