Newly-crowned bantamweight champ Miesha Tate may have pulled off the submission in the clutch, but going into the fifth round she was behind on the scorecards.

It’s worth noting that Round 2, which saw Tate absolutely dominate Holly Holm on the ground, ended up being a 10-8 round in her favor. What that means is that if Tate had failed to put Holm to sleep with that rear naked choke in the fifth, even though she would’ve won the round 10-9, the bout would’ve wound up a draw.

Thankfully, that didn’t happen.
