Michael “The Count (24-5) ” Bisping rebounds with a techical decision win over veteran Alan “The Talent” Belcher (18-8) at UFC 159 in Newark, New Jersey.

The first round was lacking in any significance, but could easily go to Bisping with the better of the trades. Round two looked to be more of the same, but with Belcher showing a lack of respect for Bisping’s striking, lowering his hands and walking forward throughout. Towards the end of the round, the two went to war as Belcher landed large punches, and Bisping landing the higher volume and returning some hay-makers of his own.

Third round had Bisping in his usual tight stance as Belcher looked to try to get his opponent to open up for a trading war. Belcher’s eye starts to bleed half way in the round. Bisping lands some big combos and resets. This is where it all goes down… Bisping throws a straight left which pokes the right eye of Belcher. The bout is stopped as more blood runs down from the eye.

Official: Michael Bisping defeats Alan Belcher via technical decision (eye poke) -(30-27, 30-27, 29-28)

Bisping has started the path to erasing his recent head kick loss to Vitor Belfort in January. Going 6-2 as of late, Bisping may only be one or two wins away from returning to title talks.
