Two of the best mid tier 155 fighters are taking each other on when Mark Bocek and Rafael dos Anjos lock it up at UFC 154. The event takes place on November 17th at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It’s headlined by a welterweight title fight between UFC champion Georges St. Pierre and interim champion Carlos Condit.
Mark Bocek has been in the UFC for five years and has over ten fights. In that span he has had four losses, and outside of the loss to Mac Danzig, they have all come by top contenders. In fact, two of his four losses came by current and former champions in Benson Henderson and Frankie Edgar. The Canadian submission ace will have his hands full come November with dos Anjos, and the two could not be more polar opposites in their styles.
With Rafael dos Anjos, his losses didn’t come by top contenders like Boeck, because his career is spotty due to his inability to perform. He has had some spectacular bouts, but they’ve been marred by losses. George Sotiropoulos was knocked out by dos Anjos while Terry Etim was submitted, with these being his main highlights. For his fights Clay Guida, Jeremy Stephens and Gleison Tibau, dos Anjos looked like he was winning, but then lost in the third round or the judges saw it different. Hopefully he can prove himself in this match, because a win over Bocek would do wonders for his credibility.
