At first it seemed like Lorenzo Fertitta – who bought the UFC from Semaphore Entertainment Group about 16 years ago and turned it into a highly-profitable sports entity before selling it recently – did it all for the cash. I mean, he did sell the thing for over four billion dollars.

But apparently the true motivation behind the sale was so that Fertitta could pursue a new career.
