Not only has it been a busy few days in the world of fighting, but in addition, UFC 166 goes down this Saturday in Houston, Texas, which will feature Cain Velaquez-Junior dos Santos III. Not only is it a huge fight because it’s a trilogy, which are pretty rare, but all three fights have been for the heavyweight belt. Now that’s insane.

JDS needed just over a minute to stop Velasquez in their first encounter at UFC on FOX 1 in November, 2011, but the reigning champ mauled “Cigano” in the rematch at UFC 155 this past December, and scored the UD win.

Of course, the October 19th card will also include several other big scraps, including Cormeir-Nelson and Melendez-Sanchez among others, so naturally the latest MMA Word Podcast features a preview of the event. Host Michael Wellman is joined by MMA’s Chris Leslie, who also share their thoughts on the UFC’s recent release of Yushin Okami. “Thunder” was let go following his stoppage loss to “Jacare” Souza last month, but exited from the promotion with a 13-5 record.

Okami has already been picked up by WSOF.

Here is a breakdown of the entire show as posted at
