Didn’t take long for the Stockton brawler Nick Diaz (26-8-1) to draw the attention of Dethrone Base Camp leader Josh Koscheck (17-6). Shortly after coach and manager of Diaz, Cesar Gracie suggested that Koscheck would be a good match-up for the upcoming UFC Superbowl card, Kos responds via Twitter.

“Cesar is calling 4 me the fight Diaz in Feb. Super Bowl weekend! What you guy think? I am DOWN! Don’t be scared Homie! #559 lol “

The match-up would land right off of the closing of Nick’s suspension from a failed drug test last Feb. for marijuana metabolites, after losing a controversial decision to Carlos Condit at UFC 143 in February.

Should the match become official, Koscheck will come in off a controversial (split) decision loss to Johny Hendricks as well, from back in May. After a back injury lost him a fight against Ellenberger in Sept., followed by lack of available opponents, Koscheck will have been out 10 months.
