Top contender Alexander Gustafsson, tells the MMA world (via Twitter) that he has been chosen as next in line for the title. Interestingly, both men have recently traveled to Moscow, Russia, handling media for a likely upcoming UFC card as Dana White admits is the plan. Not confirmed at this time, but look out for potential Jones vs. “The Mauler” in Moscow, as all signs point to it.

Jon Jones has looked unbeatable in his career, as he walks through every opponent in the light heavyweight division. Could he finally have a challenge in the young up and comer Alexander Gustafsson? After defeating Chael Sonnen, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, Rashad Evans, Lyoto Machida and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, Jones is looking for a new opponent in his attempt to shatter his currently tied record for longest running light heavyweight champ with Tito Ortiz.

Alexander Gustaffson is just the man to test Jon Jones. Similar to Jones, he only holds one loss and that is to Phil Davis via anaconda choke. The contender has been seen taking out former champ Shogun Rua, defeating Thiago Silva, Vladimir Matyushenko, Matt Hamill and James Te Huna as of late, so you can expect Jones to have a tough adversary.
