The Mexicutioner returns to the UFC after being released earlier this year. This time the former heavyweight has trimmed down to the light-heavyweight division. He’s being brought back into the fold since Brandon Vera has been moved to UFC on FOX 4 to face Shogun Rua. Beltran will now face Vera’s original opponent James Te-Huna at UFC on Fuel TV 4, which takes place in San Jose, California on July 11th.

Beltran first fought in the promotion back at UFC 109 where he earned a TKO over Rolles Gracie. He was released after going 2-4 since his first fight, with his last being a knockout at the hands of Lavar Johnson. Joey was able to pick up one win outside the UFC which was his first drop down to 205.

His opponent James Te-Huna, has been on quite a roll since joining the UFC in 2010. He’s currently riding a two fight win streak, and is 3-1 in the UFC overall, with all of his wins coming via stoppage. Te-Huna’s only loss came by current top contender Alexander Gustafsson.
