12 time Fight Night bonus winner (second only to Anderson Silva) is ready to put on another show in front of his hometown of Boston. No surprise that the native favorite is added to the blockbuster debut event against another scrapper in Michael Johnson. The event is scheduled to take place Aug. 17, live from the TD Garden.

Lauzon may be coming off a unanimous decision loss to Jim Miller at UFC 155, but it doesn’t harm his stock too much. Due to the fact that his performance was yet another blood bath, showing the heart of the submission specialist.

26-year-old Johnson may be riding a two-fight losing streak, but it doesn’t mean that the Blackzillian stand-out will be any easy match-up for Lauzon. Formerly on a three-fight win streak, prior to the losses, Johnson’s highlight reel includes an impressive recent KO of Danny Castillo at UFC on FX in Oct. of last year.

Rumored to headline the large card is Chael Sonnen versus Wanderlei Silva. The official word of Lauzon vs. Johnson as well as other matches are expected to be announced in the coming week.
