LAS VEGAS – Jim Miller (22-4) has proven that he is better lightweight as he defeats high-level submission specialist Joe Lauzon (22-8) at UFC 155 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

It was a blood bath throughout, as Miller opened up the brow and forehead of Lauzon early. After losing points in the striking department, Lauzon was only able to shine in his reversals on the bottom and submission attempts. Not enough to win the decision, Lauzon falls prey to a very sharp fellow east coast native in Jim Miller.

Official: Jim Miller defeats Joe Lauzon via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

At the age of  29, Jim Miller has already taken out much of the lightweight division. Reeling off a seven fight win-streak from July 2009 to March 2011, the Jersey native was only past on a shot because of timing. A locked up title, filled with rematches, ending just as Miller tastes defeat to now current champ Benson Henderson. Reports came after from the camp that Miller was sick in the fight and did not perform anywhere near his ability. With another win or two, we may just see what would happen in a rematch with a healthy Miller.
