Top welterweight contender Jake Shields tells Joe Rogan that he has been training with great guys like Court McGee, and Chael Sonnen in preparation for his title shot against Georges St-Pierre.
“So far things are going great man, camp is going good. We just had Court Mcgee out here last week, another kid Ramsey brought out, a great wrestler. You’ve got Chael Sonnen coming out this week, things are going good. I’m pushing, great shape. I’m just excited, I’m ready to go.”
“I’m excited; this is a fight that I’ve wanted for years … I’ve been champ of multiple other shows, that’s all great and I’m proud of that, but UFC has always been the show that I wanted to be at. These other titles are great, but my eye has always been on the UFC and Georges St. Pierre, he’s had the belt for the last three or four years. He’s the guy I’ve wanted to fight and to finally have this opportunity, I couldn’t be more excited. I can’t just wait to go out there and get it on next month.”
“It’s going to be an all out war. Georges is a great fighter. He’s one of the best out there without a doubt, I think it’s going to be an all out fight. It’s probably going to go into the later rounds, but I see myself wearing him down and submitting him at some point.”
