Make it four straight for former Strikeforce champ Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza (18-3-1) as he finishes late replacement Chris Camozzi (19-6) in front of his home country of Brazil.
The fight didn’t last long as it was a leg trip that took the game to Jacare’s danger zone. From there it was only a matter of time before the submission specialist wrapped up the second arm triangle of the night.
Official: Ronaldo Souza defeates Chris Camozzi via submission (arm triangle) – Round 1, 3:30
Jacare cannot seem to keep a scheduled opponent as he takes on his second late notice replacement. No fault of his own, the victories speak on his skills to adapt. Training out of the famed Blackhouse camp with Anderson Silva, it should come as no surprise that the Strikeforce import makes his successful UFC debut. Expect another top five opponent in his next showing.
