It’s official: UFC superstar Conor McGregor will be challenging lightweight champ Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 – the UFC’s first foray into Madison Square Garden since New York decided to legalize the sport back in April.

The announcement came via Dana White on SportsCenter last night, although it’s sure to be discussed at the press conference being held at MSG later today.

Since McGregor is still the featherweight champ, there is a chance he could be holding belts in two divisions after this one is all over. But only a chance, because getting past Alvarez – who annihilated Rafael dos Anjos to become the 155-pound king – has the tools and ability to take the Irishman’s head clean off.

Who ya got?
