Former UFC champ and extremely poor driver Jon Jones has broken his silence, and MMAFighting’s Ariel Helwani was there to ask the questions and get the answers.

One of the topics that arose centered around the story (broken by veteran scribe Josh Gross for Deadspin) that in the ramp-up to UFC 152, Vitor Belfort had some shady drug testing results, and that the UFC let the Brazilian’s fight against Jones go on, and didn’t even bother to notify Jones of any of the shadiness.

Obviously, other than a strained arm, Jones emerged from the bout victorious and unscathed, but the secrecy did not do Jones’ feelings toward the UFC any favors. In fact, you might say that Jones bears a grudge.

“I haven’t brought it up to them yet, but the fans know. The power of the UFC and this Athletic Commission, eventually something needs to be done about it. To know that they put me in there with him, knowing that he was on something, it’s really a slap to the face.”

It’s a safe bet that someone is going to sit the ex-champ down and discuss potential options for a lawsuit.
