Since it’s been two months now since Benson Henderson lost the lightweight title to Anthony Pettis at UFC 164, chances are we’ll find out in the not too distant future what’s next for “Smooth.” Recently he relayed he’s interested in fighting Rafael dos Anjos, and because the latter has said the feeling’s mutual, it’s a bout that might happen. Whoever it is, considering Henderson remains the UFC’s #1 ranked lightweight, it’s going to a top contender and a big fight.

Following his August 31st loss, Henderson was featured in an episode of AOL On’s “My Ink”, which is an online series that documents the stories behind the tattoos of celebrities. If you’ve watched Henderson fight, then obviously you know he’s had a ton of work done in this respect. Here’s what a press release from AOL had to say about “My Ink” and Henderson’s episode in particular:

MY INK – Episode Five: Benson Henderson

UFC Champion ‘Smooth’ Benson Henderson knows that doing what he loves is going to hurt, whether it’s in the “Octagon” or in the chair at his favorite tattoo shop in Phoenix.  Winning a bet with his mother in high school enabled him to get his first tattoo, then he was hooked on ink and he’s not afraid to show it (and his faith) on his sleeve, his back, or his neck.

About MY INK

Produced in partnership with Mandalay Sports Media and executive produced by award-winning producer Mike Tollin, MY INK features celebrity athletes across major professional sports sharing their personal stories behind their tattoos.

In each episode, a different featured athlete gives viewers an intimate look at their lives and their body art revealing a personal side rarely seen before.  Audiences will follow each athlete as they visit with their favorite tattoo artist, experiencing first-hand the process they go through in selecting their next piece of ink and witnessing them get it tattooed then & there.
