Welterweight champ, Georges St-Pierre still holds the betting line over newly crowned interim champ, Carlos Condit, despite a lofty lay-off from ACL surgery. The bout is yet to be made official, as St-Pierre has said that he is targeting a Nov. return. With almost ten months of inactivity from the division leaders, it’s likely we will see Condit defend the interim title before the champs return.

Word of a possible match-up between prospect Jake Ellenberger and Condit have been in talks, should Ellenberger continue to shine against Diego Sanchez at the upcoming UFC on Fuel on Feb. 15th. Sanchez, a former top contender would likely have to put on a dominant performance as well to earn the possible interim shot. If no challenger is found on that date, it is also possible for a rematch between Nick Diaz and Carlos Condit hints President Dana White.  The bout would likely require a continued fan outcry, as there has been recently over the disputed decision.
