As welterweight champ Georges St-Pierre looks to make his return to the promotion after more than a year layoff due to a sever ACL tear, he is faced with questions of a possible super-fight between himself and dominating middleweight champ Anderson Silva. To St-Pierre the discussions of the match-up are disrespectful to his current challenge at hand in Carlos Condit.
“It’s terrible. I hate that, but I’m not focusing on that. I’m not speculating,” St-Pierre told MMAWeekly. “I’m thinking about Condit right now; that’s what I should do.”
To the champ this kind of talk is perhaps even a question of his newly healed injury. With so many up and coming new challengers in the division, St-Pierre may have his hands full, even with a win over current interim welterweight champ, Carlos Condit.
“I feel like I have a lot of guys that are there and I don’t understand why people are going crazy now, but I just came back from an injury, so maybe some people see me as a weak link. We’ll see what’s going to happen in the future,” said St-Pierre.
