BJ Penn – the legendary fighter from Hawaii who thrilled us for years – ran out the last remaining thread on his competitive career a long time ago, and left the cage looking like a fighter spent and burned out.

But he’s supposedly on the comeback trail now, and his new coach, Greg Jackson, is bullish on Penn’s chances of success.

As per MMAJunkie:

“He’s really starting to look really good,” Jackson told MMAjunkie. “It’s starting to click with him. Good sparring. More of the same. Just pushing forward.”

“We’re trying to work on his technique, so every day, we can get a little bit better,” the coach said. “His numbers are looking good, and I think he’s got a few good years left in him.”

“He’s still just training, progressing very nicely,” Jackson said. “He’s really starting to look really good.”

Look, I’m all for a good comeback story, but there’s no way Penn is going to be a good match-up with anyone in the UFC right now. Greg Jackson, you’re going to get our beloved BJ killed.
