Glover Teixeira (21-2) continues to do what he does constantly — win. Defeating Aussie scrapper James Te Huna (16-6) at UFC 160 was no easy feat, yet he made it look like just that in Las Vegas, NV.

We had two knockout artists going toe to toe, yet there was no standing needed for the finish. Using his advanced grappling, Teixeira was able to get it to the ground quickly and work through the guard. It was Te Huna’s attempt to scramble up from the guard that exposed his neck (as it usually does). From there it was all she wrote as Te Huna taps before sleeping.

Teixeira is definitely now knocking on the door for title contention, however he may need to wait out the winner of Jon Jones versus Alexander Gustafsson, which was recently announced by “The Mauler”. Unofficial at this time, but should anything change it could likely be the Chuck Liddell Protege stepping in next for a title shot.
