Former UFC champions Matt Hughes and Matt Serra seem content in retirement – other than the idea of facing each other yet again.

Back in 2009, Hughes defeated Serra via unanimous decision at UFC 98. The bout garnered “Fight of the Night” honors.

The two never crossed paths before or after, due to injuries and other fighting related issues.

Now, several years later, the spark has returned for Hughes and Serra to meet again.

On Twitter late Wednesday night, the pair exchanged several messages talking about setting up a fight. Hughes (45-9) hasn’t fought since a 2011 knockout loss to Josh Koscheck, while Serra (11-7) has been retired since a 2010 defeat to Chris Lytle.
