UFC president Dana White has announced that the UFC has now made all main events five round fight as if they were title fights.

The adjustment however will not apply to the currently scheduled upcoming bouts,  Rashad Evans vs. Phil Davis, and UFC on Versus 5’s Dan Hardy vs. Chris Lytle and this weekends Shane Carwin vs Junior Dos Santos.

“From this day forward, as we speak right here, right now today, every fight that is a main event that is not a title fight will be a five-round fight,” White said. “So all the fights that will be made from this day forward will be five rounds.”

Hopefully the additional two rounds may now settle split decisions in main events that we have seen as of recent. Fights such as Penn vs Fitch may have been a different story.
