The UFC as usual is not playing around when it comes to their Superbowl weekend card. Following Saturday’s UFC 138: Leben vs Munoz fight, President Dana White announced that Carlos Condit would still like to be on the same card as St-Pierre, despite losing his title shot to Nick Diaz at UFC 137.
“Right now, Carlos wants to fight. He wants to fight on the same card as GSP and Diaz, so we’ll see what happens. Koscheck has been offered (the fight), said White.”
Prior to this we had heard comments from both Koscheck and Condits camp that the fight was likely. Koscheck recently tweeted his acceptance.
“Yep, when I talk….. i get… Feb 4th weekend Vegas :) I will be fighting!!!!!!!!!!! Thx you DW!”
The event UFC 143 is already set to take place at the Mandalay Events Center Feb. 4, 2012. The headliner will be St-Pierre vs Diaz, the original title for UFC 137. Besides the new likely co-headliner, Anthony Pettis vs. Joe Lauzon has been said set for the upcoming event.
