It has just been announced that the Thiago Alves vs. Jon Fitch fight will need to be pushed back once again. The rematch was first suppose to take place at UFC 111, but due to a last minute discovery of a “brain irregularity” Alves had to pull out of the card. Fitch still went on to fight on the card against the very tough Ben Saunders, pulling out the win.

UFC 115, June was then announced as the next date for the rematch between Fitch and Alves. That has just been changed as White announced that the Zuffa organization has decided to push the fight back to give Alves more time to recover from brain surgery that took place on March 31.

The new date is UFC 117, which is not an officially announced card as of yet, but is the aim for these two top contenders to finally face-off.

The first bout between the two was in June 2006, with Fitch getting the second-round TKO win. Much has changes since then as both men are ranked by many as top five middleweight contenders.
