Mauricio “Shogun” Rua told Fighters Only that he is expecting a rematch with Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira’s twin brother Antonio “Minotoro” Nogueira, to be in the works for after his bout against light heavyweight champ Lyoto Machida at UFC 113.
“I believe every fight is tough, but the fights with Lyoto and Minotoro were the toughest I had. Fans want that fight [with Rogerio] again and I think we’re going to meet each other again.
Minotoro is a guy I respect a lot and we talk often. Nobody can be underestimated, he is at the top of the category, and he has proved that. I’m sure that fight will happen soon,” Rua told Fighters Only.
The fighters met back in 2005 to fight in the middleweight class for the PRIDE grand-prix finals, going three rounds where Rua won be decision.
Before the two can meet again, Minotoro will first have a bout against Forrest Griffin at UFC 114.
