The man that helped start it all, winner of UFC 1, 2, 4 Royce Gracie at the age of 44 will look to have another attempt at a return in the UFC for the big return to his home country Brazil on August 27th. In Royce’s last fight in the UFC against former welterweight champion Matt Hughes, the UFC hall of famer was badly dominated, losing in the first via TKO. Following that Gracie did have success against the ‘Gracie Hunter’ himself Kazuki Sakuraba in K-1 Dynamite, USA winning by unanimous decision in 2007.

Royce Gracie was one of Dana White’s guests at the event promoting the UFC’s arrival in Brazil come August 27, in Rio de Janeiro.

It didn’t take long for the promotion’s first champion to field the question, “Will you be fighting at UFC Rio?”

With a smile, the veteran replied:

“We’re negotiating. I’m always well trained!”
