Rashad Evans (16-1-1) earns his light heavyweight title shot with his third straight victory in the Octagon. Evans pummeled the original king of ground and pound, Tito Ortiz (17-9-1) finishing the fight after a big knee to the body.
Evans will now look for a chance to regain the title that was briefly once his before losing it to now former champ Lyoto Machida.¬† Prior to the event President Dana White announced that should Evans win, he would be next in line to verse the winner of Jon Jones vs. Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson fight taking place in September.
