Following a rumor of Rashad Evans replacing Thiago Silva’s slot due to a pending drug test by Silva, the word is now that Matt Hamill will actually be the one to step in against Jackson at UFC 130. A fight Jackson originally expressed disinterest in tweeting that he had ‘unfinished business with Rashad‘ but since then has now changed his view after hearing that Hamill requested the fight.
“He wants me? Well, he can have me,” Jackson told Yahoo! Sports. “I’m gonna knock him into tomorrow.”
With both men coming off victories against top contenders in the UFC light heavyweight division, the fight is expected to set the winner in contention for the belt. The bout will take place at UFC 130 on May 28 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV, headlining the third bout between UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard.
