It’s hard to argue with someone that has been putting on amazing performances finishes as Melvin Guillard has recently. Following a five fight win-streak with three stopped via strikes, Guillard is now eying the top of the lightweight division. Guillard tells that he has not been impressed with the lack of finishes by the current lightweight champ, Frankie Edgar and insinuates that he’s not sure Edgar’s draw against Maynard was the right decision by the judges.

“I feel like a lot of the guys at the top of the heap were overrated. The UFC will promote them harder so they’ll get more of the attention … Me personally, I think Frankie Edgar is overrated. He beat B.J. Penn twice, I’ll give the guy credit where credit is due, but he barely got away from Gray Maynard. He’s the champ right now, but he’s not a finisher. To me, a lot of the guys who aren’t finishing fights are overrated. Nowadays you get a lot of bad judging, so who’s to say these guys really won some of these fights they say they won. I just feel overall that best 155’er and I’m content with that.”
