Kenny Florian (13-4), and Gray Maynard (9-0) have both created an impeccable fight record in the UFC. Both men carry huge wins over top contenders. This is probably making Joe Silva’s job that much harder when considering who’s the next number one contender after Frankie Edgar in the light-weight division. A simple solution to the problem would be to have them fight it out.
These men have both expressed interest in the fight taking place. Maynard recently calling out the winner of Florian and Gomi. When Florian was asked about a possible match-up after his win over Takanori Gomi, Florian had this to say:
“I know Gray Maynard said he wanted to get the winner of this fight. He’s a tremendous competitor, and the champion’s still out there, B.J. Penn,”
